About the School - We are passionate about massage and we want to share this with you in our Diploma course. Holistic Massage Practitioners have a deep fascination with the human body and its endless potential at all levels - physical, mental, spiritual, psychological. We work on the basis that nurturing, respectful touch is fundamental to all of us and want to make it as accessible to as many people as we can. If you enjoy working from your heart as well as your head, you may be interested in learning the art and science of Holistic Massage.

About the Tutors - Lorraine Horton is Meridian's Founder and Course Director. She qualified in Massage Therapy in 1992 and with her love of massage and her enjoyment of training she founded Meridian in 2003. She also runs a well-established complementary health practice and is employed by the Health Service to provide complementary therapies to learning disabled people.

Julie Linton is Co -Director of Meridian, Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology tutor on the Professional Diploma in Holistic Massage, and tutor for the Diploma in Holistic Sports and Remedial Massage Therapy. Julie also has her own Clinic Practice, working with a wide variety of clients.

She qualified with MTI in 2006 and since then has worked to help her clients achieve increased mobility and relaxation.  She has particular interest in working with people with mobility difficulties and is still amazed at the results a holistic massage can have on individuals.

Holistic Massage Diploma - It is part-time comprising 26 days over 11 months consisting of regular weekend and 3 day workshops. There is a maximum group size of 14. The variety of teaching methods is largely experiential and participative. During the course students will practice massage and bodywork on each other, and there will be at least two supervised clinic practice sessions. The time between workshops allows you to practice massage, self-awareness exercises and complete theory/written assignments.

The course aims to equip you in theory, practice and confidence to begin your journey as massage therapists to a high professional standard, with close supervision and support throughout. It provides a foundation for you to explore the fascinating areas of self, life and work.
